Sage Gold Rush Cocktail
Sage Gold Rush Cocktail is a perfect winter cocktail. Honey is always soothing and beneficial this time of year. And even better, they have active hives right here in Sandwich.IngredientsFor the Honey Sage Syrup1/2 cup local honey1/2 cup water1 oz fresh sage leaves, stems removedFor the Sage Gold Rush Cocktail4 oz of your favorite bourbon3 oz honey sage simple syrup3 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)Instructions
- To make the syrup, combine honey, water and sage leaves in medium sauce pan over medium heat. Let come to boil. Remove from heat and let liquid cool. Strain into jar or bottle with a lid, pressing sage leaves firmly to release liquid. Leftover syrup will keep in fridge for about 1 month.
- To make the cocktail, combine bourbon, honey sage syrup, lemon juice and ice into shaker. Shake vigorously and strain over ice in a high ball glass. Garnish with sage leaf and lemon peel.
